Standard permits 7–14 working days · KKOP zones 30–45

What a Bali drone permit costs

IDR 9–35 million for single-location daylight filming, as of August 2026. Multi-day work inside KKOP scales from IDR 25–120 million and up — always after a review of your storyboard.

Variables that set the price

Four variables move the number: airspace complexity, how many locations, what kind of project, and how much notice you give.

  • Standard authority lead time is 14 working days; 30–45 days for complex KKOP or high-risk venues
  • Core documents: drone registration, AOC operator licence, insurance certificate, method statement, and a map with GPS coordinates
  • Risk layers priced in: KKOP checks, airspace classification, helipad proximity and population density mapping
  • Firmware checks required before filing — geofencing status, fail-safe and return-to-home calibration
  • Project types covered: features, OTT series, advertising, weddings, corporate events and drone shows
  • Independent civilian service company; flights operated only by licensed AOC operators

Bands

Where projects typically land

These are the ranges real projects have fallen into, not a rate card. The band is a starting point for the conversation — the quote comes from your storyboard.

  • Single location, daylight

    9–18jt IDR

A documentary scene or a small shoot outside KKOP, one location, daylight hours, straightforward insurance. The lower end of the range assumes complete documents on first submission.

  • Most common

    Campaign, non-KKOP

    18–60jt IDR

Commercial and branded content across several shooting days. A multi-camera advertising campaign with two or three aircraft reaches IDR 40–90 million.

  • Multi-day with KKOP

    25–120jt IDR

Episodic and feature work, island hops, or anything inside the airport buffer. Film production is typically quoted at IDR 18–120 million per block of shooting.

Indicative and dated August 2026. Corporate events generally sit at IDR 12–45 million depending on venue position, flight times and extras such as night operations or pyrotechnics. Every figure here is a range a project fell into, not a price we charge.

How the quote is built

Priced against the call sheet, line by line

Not a lump sum. Each unique permit or clearance channel that has to be touched becomes its own line.

  1. 01

    Break down the schedule

A three-day shoot across Canggu, Sidemen and Ubud is split by day, time band and altitude before anything is priced.

  2. 02

    Classify each location

Open countryside, populated area, or KKOP and controlled airspace. That classification feeds straight into the method statement.

  3. 03

    Cost the channels

One line per permit or clearance channel touched — so a production manager can see what each location actually adds.

  4. 04

    Re-price on change

Move a hero shot from Sanur to Jimbaran and the risk matrix is re-analysed and the quote adjusted before any new filing goes out.

Firmware data is often requested to strengthen the file: geofencing status and return-to-home configuration, taken before the application rather than after a question about it.

What moves a project up a band

  • Airspace

    Pushes cost up
    Inside or near KKOP
    Keeps cost down
    Open countryside, away from approaches
  • Locations

    Pushes cost up
    Multi-site, island hops
    Keeps cost down
    Single location
  • Project

    Pushes cost up
    Episodic, multi-week continuity
    Keeps cost down
    One-off scene or private wedding
  • Timing

    Pushes cost up
    Rush, night work, peak season
    Keeps cost down
    Filed 14 working days ahead
  • Aircraft

    Pushes cost up
Two or three drones, mixed types
    Keeps cost down
    One aircraft, one operator

A sunrise coastal scene in Singaraja and a rooftop corporate event in Kuta are the same shot list on paper and two different bands in practice — one sits inside the 15 km airport buffer and one does not.

A quote built from your actual schedule takes a day. A number guessed from a web page helps nobody.
